This shot was put together in post production. I was tasked with with creating from scratch a large push in on characters climbing down Vesuvius. I started with the look of Vesuvius in a storyboard sketch. From here I worked up the model in sculptris and the camera in Maya. The projection paintings were produced in various stages to counter the resolution as we moved in on the volcano. It was worked up in nuke with the compositor Berrin Moody.
